  Junodownload Review:Rastaman Citation E.P

Glaswegian sub soldiers Squinty Bass come correct with this authentic contemporary dub session from Sub Matter and Thorpido. Laced with low-end luxury and driven by a mesmerising horn sample, the riddim is complemented with a perfectly applied vocal sample. Hypnotic from the off, there's an enveloping sense of clarity and weight throughout. Remix-wise we're spoilt for choice - J-Rokk gets hard with double kicks and added sub bass pressure, Kinetic Eon gets tribal with an infectious percussive hook, The Nibelheim Incident get nasty with a distorted lesson in raw savagery, Jeshl gets oceanically deep with a dubbed out house blend and Kellahertz show us how things are done when dub meets hard style. Citation needed!

   OneFortyDeep Review:Subessence E.P

This 7 track eponymous EP from Subessence is due for release on Squinty Bass Records on 21st December 2013.There's a confident musicality to Subessence's thoughtful, well-crafted productions. The beats and bass are powerful yet measured, never distracting from the harmonious leads and lush atmospherics. Not afraid to deviate from the common 140bpm tempo, the Subessence EP is refreshingly melodic deep bass music that will work equally well in deeper ambient DJ sets and as a standalone piece.Tracklist:1-Orca 2-Antimatter 3-Crossover 4-You're Free 5-Between The Lines 6-Ever Forward 7-Sleep.
